We set up for a quiet week of anxiously waiting…
On Wednesday we get the truck and camper back in order. Somewhat. We put away the tools we had out at the mechanic, and all of our things that needed to be Ubered back to us. We play with the dog, and Berne pets the nice horse. Mostly, we work.
On Thursday its pretty warm. We go for a walk around the neighborhood, and watch some kids playing soccer. Some are barefoot, some are wearing socks. There are giant ants in the park. We sweat a lot. Mostly, we work.
On Friday it is actually hot. We sweat sitting in front of the fan. Thankfully there are no bugs. We haven’t been sleeping because of the dogs barking, and the bright lights from all directions. We go to the mall to hide from the heat and pick up a few groceries. Mostly, we sweat.
On Saturday the weather takes a 40 degree dip. The wind picks up, it feels like a storm is coming. We are grateful for the break in the heat. We bake cookies. We clean the camper. We walk the neighborhood. The horses don’t like the wind, they scream most of the night. The dogs bark more. Mostly, we relax.
On Sunday the weather is cooler. We walk to the park. We find more things to clean. We spend a lot of time relaxing. One of us gets scared by a centipede in the shower. Mostly, we bed rot.
On Monday the weather is cold. We are starting to feel anxious about our repairs. Our delivery ETA changes from Tuesday to Wednesday. Nuts, but this happened last time too. We run the heater a little in the evening. Mostly, we stay cozy.
On Tuesday the weather is delightful. We are nothing but anxiety. Will these parts be enough? Will we find other problems? We play with the dog. We say hi to the other two vehicles that arrive at the campground. Having neighbors is a nice distraction. Parts should arrive tomorrow. But mostly, we stress.
