Our time in Ecuador was very short! We clearly have some exploring to do there on the way back. And we managed to not eat any Ecuadorian food, so we will have to fix that!
Days in Country: only 6!
Miles Driven: 861
Nights spent indoors: 0
Things we weren’t expecting:
The vast majority of the dogs here are German Shepard’s. There are very few mutts, which seems strange in a place where dogs roam free. Nowhere we went was below 8000ft, this was the start of our acclimating to altitude. Generally the country was very clean, no trash along the road or in camp sites. And the roads are fantastic! Paved and dirt, 10/10.
Things we didn’t enjoy:
It always puts a damper on our adventuring when we hear a country is having gang problems. We didn’t visit the coast because of this.
Some things we recommend:
Cotopaxi! It was AMAZING, and our first time above 15,000ft

Crossing the Equator was a pretty cool box to check off

The countryside in Ecuador was really beautiful, and extremely scenic.
