We should’ve done more stuff yesterday!! It’s hustle out of here time. Laundry needs to be dropped off for rush service due to another holiday on Friday. After days of rain, we finally get some sun, which brings out the mosquitos (winter mosquitos?!? Why???). Mud and mosquitoes are not ideal prep conditions, but this is how it goes sometimes. We move to a campground close to the airport today. They have two cats and a dog. After cleaning out the fridge and pantry, we make some dinner and cozy in for the night.

One more day to prep. Top priorities are finish eating any food that will spoil, and get our laundry. Easy. It’s been very humid because of the rain, so we also pick up some descant. We buy three containers, two for the camper, one for the cab. Hopefully this keeps the mold away.
Today is new airport day!! Our flight isn’t until 9pm, which gives us tons of time to explore the airport and enjoy the lounge. This trip we are bringing the surfboard back. It’s been repaired more than it’s been used, so it’s time to get slightly better gas mileage. After packing and cleaning, we get the truck tucked into storage. The nice owner of the storage place drives us to the airport, and gives us a ton of recommendations for when we return, it’s perfect.
Fun fact! You can check luggage up to four hours before your flight. We’re at the airport six hours early. Oh well. The surfboard gets checked in with no issues, fingers crossed it looks the same on the other end. Once we make it into the lounge, we load up on plane snacks (more than just cookies). Buenos Aires to Houston is an almost ten hour red eye flight, and we don’t want to gamble on just the plane food.

One very uneventful flight later, we touch down in Houston. We zoom through customs (everyone is nervous again, nothing about American immigration has gotten better since our last), and KoKo heads straight for Einstein brothers bagels, her old favorite. Our layover is short, so it’s no time before we’re in the air to San Francisco. One more extremely uneventful flight, and we’re back! The surfboard…not so much. United promises to bring it to the hotel by the end of the weekend. Speaking of the hotel, our favorite front desk clerk, Kevin, lets us check in at noon instead of making us wait until 3pm. We nap until dinner time. After picking up some groceries and dinner, it’s back to relaxing and recovering from our long journey.
Still on Argentina time, and summer sun, we get up EARLY. Our favorite waitress is waiting at our favorite breakfast place, Country Way. She always remembers us, and brings our usual. We head to the office to pick up our packages, and accidentally set off the alarm. Oops. We round out the day with dumplings and foot massages before heading back for a little more rest before the work starts.
